  • Barclays Bank (UK) in 2009 established Barclays Technology Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is one of four strategic Barclays engineering centres, supporting the Barclays Retail Banking businesses across the globe. Barclays, being a truly global financial services provider, has created one of the biggest IT project management teams in Lithuania.
  • Callcredit Information Group (UK), experts in the fields of credit referencing, marketing services, consumer information, interactive solutions and consultative analytics, established its first operational branch abroad in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2012.  The Lithuanian office is planning to have 200 employees by the end of 2013. Callcredit have experienced the support of the Lithuanian Government, who have played an integral part in this process.
  • Ikea (Sweden), international retail furnishing giant, is opening their first outlet in Vilnius, Lithuania in 2013 as part of the Ikea’s continued high investment in the Lithuanian forestry and furniture manufacturing industries. In 2005 Ikea created an administration centre in Kaunas, Lithuania to cater for its European operations, a project costing 1.28 million Euros, and in 2008 Ikea made a substantial investment in one of Lithuania’s largest furniture factories for the development of the Baltic Sea Region, at a total project cost of 72.4 million Euros.
  • Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Canada), the world leader in serving science, has continued to invest in Lithuania since acquisition of Vilnius-based Fermentas International Inc. in 2010. Its Molecular Biology Center of Excellence was opened in Vilnius in 2012 which showcases world-class capabilities for developing and manufacturing products used in a range of life sciences applications. The company has an ambitious goal to create 1.1% of Lithuania’s GDP in 2020.
  • Western Union (US), a global leader in money transfer, in 2010 opened its European Regional Operations Centre (EUROC) in Vilnius and has already created more than 400 jobs for highly skilled professionals in Lithuania. The centre provides critical support to the company’s global operations and help Western Union to improve efficiency and productivity.
